PERSONALITY: girafarig is a very nervous, easily frightened pokémon. he always stays firmly by adrian's side, too afraid to take even a few steps away from his trainer. he'll jump at anything, and it's recommended that you don't creep up behind him - his tail will most likely bite.
HISTORY: adrian was born to two pokémon breeders, carly and ashton, in the icy snowpoint city. he was their only child, but he was not doted on as could be assumed. from a young age he was expected to help take care of the pokémon: feeding them, collecting eggs, grooming and the like. his parents also taught him about the pokémon - and seeing as they were breeders, not trainers, most of what he learned was about pokémon natures, which pokémon could breed with which and what pokémon would produce the best children, not move sets and battling. while the other kids were enthusing about becoming trainers and battling pokémon, adrian just wanted to learn.
instead of getting a starter pokémon and travelling sinnoh when he turned ten, adrian stayed home and helped his parents with their breeding, simply because it was more interesting to him than forcing pokémon to fight each other. his parents still wanted him to have his own pokémon, though, and so they gifted him with an egg of his very own. adrian hatched the egg to discover that he was now the proud owner of a young girafarig.
adrian was nineteen when he was approached by the sinnoh region's professor, offering him a research job in lerruen. (though he doesn't know this, his parents wanted him to go out and travel, and so had told the professor of his interest in learning about pokémon in the hopes that the professor would give him a reason to leave home.) the temptation was too hard to resist - it was a newly discovered region in the sky - and so he graciously accepted the job.
