The Tsunamae family moved from the Unova Region when Kou was only five. Their eldest daughter was already a skilled Trainer, and Kou wanted to begin right away. So when they arrived in the Lerruen Region, Kou trained as hard as she could with the Tepig she got from Juniper before they left. Of course, nothing ever goes perfectly, right? One afternoon, while Kou and Puka were training in the field, Puka's Tackle went astray, and she hit the frame of the barn Mamoru was working on. The frame collapsed, crushing the man to death. Kou was devistated, and she stopped playing with Puka all together. She helped her hardest to finish putting up the barn, so her mother's Breeding Farm could get underway.
It's been 6 years since the accident, and Kou has finally warmed up to Puka again, with the help of her big sister. Chi-Chan is her idol, she wants to be exactly like her older sister, so she's preparing to set off on her own journey. She wants to catch as many Pokemon as she can, so she can take them back to the Farm to get business booming. Her time, is now.
